UML candidacy Nembang holds CA chair

After the president run- off completed as Dr Ram Baran Yadav was elected by simple majority following the unexpected forging of new alliance, the nation is yet to see the CA chairman that falls in fifth position in protocol ranking as per the government latest preeminence on Monday.

As per the consensus between the parties CPN-UML has major claim for the post to be held on Thursday for which the party has proposed its party leader and former Speaker Subas Nembang.

According to UML leader Pradeep Gyawali, a Standing Committee meeting of the party reached the decision to forward Nembang's name for the post.

The UML has also decided to take initiative to forge a consensus among all the political parties in the Constituent Assembly behind Nembang candidacy, he added.

Meanwhile, senior leaders of the CPN-UML, Nepali Congress (NC) and Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF) held a meeting at the UML Parliamentary Party Office in Singha Durbar Monday afternoon to discuss their strategy to elect the UML candidate for the CA Chair.

Meanwhile to seek the consent of all political parties in the CA for Nembang candidacy, all three parties have decided to make collective efforts, NC General Secretary Bimalendra Nidhi said.
