Newly forged alliance end after CA chair election: UML general secy

A day after Maoist announced to remain away from the government, CPN UML general secretary Jhalanath Khanal termed it haste decision asking the former to avoid the decision assuring that the lately forged three parties’ alliance was only for the election of CA chair that go for UML instead of new government formation.

"It is unfortunate that the Maoists have taken such a decision in haste just because they lost presidential post," said UML general secretary Jhalanath Khanal while speaking at a Pushpa Lal Memorial Day function in the capital, adding , "I request the Maoists to rectify their decision and form a consensus government."

In another programme, terming the Maoist decision to remain in the opposition "hasty", top leaders of the Nepali Congress and the Madhesi People's Rights Forum on Tuesday urged the Maoists to rectify it.

They claimed that the Maoist decision not to lead a new government simply on the ground that they failed to get their presidential candidate elected was unwise.

Speaking at the function, NC Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel claimed that it was the "Maoists' political game" that compelled the three parties (NC, UML, MPRF) to forge a new alliance.
