'Full-fledged budget by fortnight after Maoist shape govt'

A Maoist central leader has claimed that that his party will bring a full-fledged budget within 15 days after it form the government.

Speaking at a programme in capital today, Maoist leader Dev Gurung said that the Maoist budget would differentiate with the previous ones in terms of plans and programmes.dev-gurung-single.jpg

Gurung also said that the Maoist will outline the structure of a New Nepal and prepare a brand new budget for the country.

He said the Maoists will not allow monopoly of foreign capital in the name of privatization. Instead domestic capitals will be prioritized and open competition will be given importance, he added.

Speaking at the same programme, Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Narayan Khadka said that the economic programmes have been hindered due to the failure among the parties to forge common consensus.

He also warned that the nation will have to face a crisis if the common agreements are not made soon.
Meanwhile, economist Dr Shanker Sharma warned that the next fiscal year’s budget will be affected due to the current advance expenditure bill.

Industrialist and CA lawmaker Diwakar Golchha said that the bill has failed to attract the private sectors.

On Monday, the CA had passed a special bill that authorizes the government, in the absence of a fiscal year budget, to incur expenditures totaling Rs 73.54 billion in the new fiscal year that begins from July 16.
