Goats travel on cycle in Sunsari

Bicycles are easy and comfortable means of vehicles to travel in the plain areas like terai region. All genders from teenagers to elder people seem to travel on this environment friendly medium in the regions.

But breaking the earlier tradition, goats seemed to suffer on cycles enjoying the surrounding at Lowkha, Vantabari , Khanar and Koshi barrage of Sunsari district recently.

It became possible to ride cycles by four footed domestic animal like goats when the villagers transported them into packs in group or single at a cycle while carrying them to hat bazaar for sale. Other locals and foreigners who get first sight of such scene would astonish while witnessing the farmers who are accustomed to walk on street for hours on foot. The poor farmers have a common problem of fearing to cut down the weight of goats if they were carried on their own foot. So they adopted the new technique of transporting goats on bicycle which has helped them at large extent.

Villagers are yielded to walk on foot for hours in the northern belt of the district as goat farming has been becoming the sole earn of their daily living.

Uraodin Miya, 65, has been transporting his goats to Inaruwa bazaar for sale since three years and it has helped him to purchase the goat at his desire price.
