Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala is learnt to resign from his post this evening.
Koirala, who had already announced his resignation in CA meeting two weeks ago, will tender his resignation letter to newly elected president Dr. Ram Baran Yadav by this evening after the latter’s swearing in ceremony which is scheduled for Today at 3 PM .is accomplished.
At the final meeting of the interim Council of Ministry held this morning, Koiral gave thanks all the ministers who supported in his tenure, said Labour Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
Meanwhile, Koirala has accepted the resignation tendered by newly elected President Dr Rambaran Yadav from the post of General Secretary and member of the party, stating that he needed to be independent from partisan affiliation to maintain dignity and integrity of the post of the President.
Koirala extended his best wishes for the success of Dr Yadav in his tenure of the President, appreciating his contributions in the democratic politics of the country remaining in the Nepali Congress, Central Office of the party stated on Tuesday.
