Although four days have passed since the village got deluged by flood water, the flood hit people of Paya Tole at Malibar of Jaleshwor Municipality-12 are yet to receive relief materials.
While the flood waters from local Ratu River continuing to wreak havoc in the village neither the government nor other concerned organizations have taken initiatives to rescue the villagers.
After the flood waters ruined the food stocks and ravaged the households, people here are reeling under starvation and remain vigil all through the night.
Due to surging water levels, most of the children are ill because of the cold while others have developed skin allergies.
"It's been three days since my kids ate a square meal," said one Hari Chaudhary pointing at his three small children, who are all sick.
Meanwhile, Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma, who is also the coordinator of Disaster Relief Committee, said he cannot dole out relief materials as nobody from the flood hit village has arrived demanding relief.
The villagers, on the other hand, are not in a situation of leaving their children and women in the middle of the floods and travel all the way to the district headquarters for relief materials.
