Harisayani Ekadashi, a festival being observed by Hindu devotees across the world worshipping lord Bishnu-the survivor- is being celebrated across the country today.
During the day Hindu devotees practice fasting and plant 'Tulasi' –a sacred plant, which is also taken as the incarnation of lord Bishnu- in their home premises. 
For four months beginning the day, special worships were offered to Lord Bishnu. Devotees throng to the Narayan (Bishnu) Temples including Budhanilkantha, Changu Narayan, Matshya Narayan, Ichhangu Narayan, Shikha Narayan among others for worshipping.
The 'Chaturmasha' (four monthly) has also begun from the day in which the mythological epic Shreemadh Bhagawat were recited.
Meanwhile, special fairs have started in various places across the country on the occasion. Modibeni and Setibeni, a riverside of KaliGandaki river see a big fair today.
Hundreds of devotees also from the adjoining Baglung, Syanja, Parbat among other districts have thronged the spot that lies near to Kushma, the headquarters of Parbat, to have holy bath. It is believed that all the devotees who bathed there on the day were blessed with wellbeing.
