While other airlines are making hay with all of their flight seats jam-packed, the only national flag carrier in the country have to cancel its daily flights twice to two different sectors in lack of passengers.
Though the official at the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) said they had received overwhelming bookings for Friday's service to Bangkok, it had cancelled its scheduled flight to Hong Kong on Thursday for lack of passengers.
The airline had also cancelled its flight to Delhi on Wednesday because there were pitiably few passengers.
A NAC official said only 14 passengers had booked seats on its Boeing 757 scheduled to depart at 11:35 am, and only seven of them were confirmed.
“There were 18 passengers holding tickets for the return trip to Kathmandu,” he said. He added that NAC's sole jet aircraft remained idle throughout the day.
The NAC after six months suspension of all its flights had resumed flights from Tuesday.
