Responding to a request from the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the Nepal Petroleum Dealers Association (NPDA) has withdrawn its indefinite strike that lasts for a week.
Shiva Prasad Ghimire, president of the association said that they decided to withdraw the strike, for the time being, since the lack of fuel was hitting agriculture, transport, industry and other essential services.
After the postponement of strike sales and distribution of petroleum products has resumed across the country from Monday.
The association has not withdrawn the strike even after several rounds of talks with the state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC). The negotiations were held on Sunday afternoon as well.
FNCCI, the apex business association, requested petroleum dealers to postpone their ongoing strike after a series of dialogues between the NPDA and officials of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS) ended inconclusively on Sunday.
The association had stopped selling and distributing petroleum products for the last seven days demanding smooth supply and parity in the price of diesel, kerosene and petrol, among others.
