Two ministers in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled Karnataka government were allegedly found watching pornography inside the Assembly on Tuesday.
They were reportedly caught on camera watching the sleazy content on their mobile phones.
While Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said any action against the ministers could be taken by the Speaker, media reports quoted BJP president Nitin Gadkari and national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain saying action would be taken against them if they were found guilty and that reports were sought on the incident.
The ministers were caught watching the porn content by a local news channel that was covering the Assembly proceedings.
The ministers defended themselves saying they were watching a video of a rave party where women were raped since the house was discussing a similar issue.
One of the two ministers, Laxman Savadi, said he was not contemplating to resign at all over the issue, brushing aside Opposition demand that they should step down
