A high-level committee for the development of Lumbini as an international Buddhist hub, has informed that a worldwide publicity campaign will start soon with an aim to attract visitors and possible investors.
Chairman of the Unified CPN (Maoist) party Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who heads the committee has informed public about the plans at a programme organized in the capital.
Addressing a programme marking the 3rd Kapilvastu-Lumbini Day in Kathmandu, Dahal said the committee headed by him is making all possible efforts for the promotion and development of Lumbini.
He said his recent visit to New York to meet United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to discuss about possible international support for development of Lumbini had further established the importance of Lumbini.
On the occasion, Dahal was felicitated for his role for development of Lumbini.
Meanwhile, the Maoist chairman said that his involvement in the Lumbini project would not hamper his efforts to conclude the peace process. According to him, the peace process and the constitution-drafting would be completed on consensus.
