KATHMANDU: He stated that the KMC has not been involved in sewer management until now and the Department of Sewerage Management has been overseeing that but said he takes responsibility for the unfortunate incident of as an elected mayor. “It is a very sad incident even from human perspective. We should not remain silent on this,” he said. He revealed that he has started deliberations with engineers and ward chairmen to ensure that such incidents are not repeated, and assured solid program for safety.
He attributed the incident to lack of outlet for rain water due to the narrow space left for flow of water while constructing road. “I sent engineers and the ward chairman of the area for inspection of the site of incident.
