Nepal taste a bitter end to its journey to ICC U-19 World Cup Cricket after the hattrick loss in the tournament.

In the third day match England defeated Nepal by 126 runs on Thursday. This was their last group match of the match.

Chasing a target of 275 runs, Nepali sides were all out on 148 runs in the 46th over. Opener Subash Khakurel’s 55 from 70 runs and Hasim Ansari’s 36 from 74 balls were the only notable batting performance by the Nepali side. Rahul Biswakarma also made 20 runs from 53 balls. Three top order batsmen—Sagar Pun, Naresh Budayair and Captain Prithu Baskota—returned to the pavilion without opening their account.

Shozair Ali took four wickets and Reece Topley grabbed three wickets for the English team.

Earlier, riding on the blistering 92 off just 87 balls by Ben Foakes, the English team produced a superb performance with the bat after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Middle order batsman Ben Duckett also cracked another 55 in 33 balls to punish the feeble attack by the Nepali bowlers.

Alex Davies (45), Daniel Bell-Drummond (23) and Sam Wood (23) also contributed runs to the English team.

Biswakarma took three wickets but he proved to be too expensive conceding 62 runs in nine overs. Avinash Karn also grabbed two and Pradeep Airee registered a wicket in his name.
