Heavy snowfall hit life in Solu; hoteliers complain food stuff
Normal life in upper part of Solukhumbu district has been adversely affected due to heavy snowfall and delay in melting.
Shortage of foodstuff has hit the locals of Khumbu region in the district as snow was not melted for two weeks in the region. Hoteliers of this famous tourist area complained that they were mostly affected due to lack of foodstuffs supply.
Helicopters are used to supply foods in the upper parts of the district due to lack of road network but even helicopter landing has been next to impossible difficult, thanks to heavy snow.
Locals said most of the areas in Khumjung VDC were covered with snow though snow in Chaurikharka and Namche was melted slightly.
Pasang Sherpa of Namche-8 said the life was crippled as this year early snowfall was witnessed and the locals had not collected the daily commodities and other materials needed during the winter.
